This Bachelor Thesis is divided into two parts. First part includes translation of chosen chapters from popular scientific publication "Batallas decidivas de la historia de España". The second part is dedicated to translation analysis of the original book. Main concentration I have put on stylistic factors and aspects of translated text and included main obstacles I encoutered during translation of the chapters. The goal of this bachelor thesis is to make a translation of a selected french text (of about 20 standard pages) and to add a translator commentary to it. First part of the thesis is the translation of an article (La victoire était-elle inéluctable) about causes of the german invasion to France in 1940. The second part deals with the analysis of the original text (from the point of view of lexicology, syntax and stylistics), translation problems and the method of translation used. The commentary contains examples form both the original and the translated text.

Abstact This bachelor's thesis is composed of two parts: a translation of the chosen text and a commentary of the translation. The direction of the translation was from Spanish to Czech. The selected text is a phonetic article which refers to the description of the phonetometry protocol. The author of this article is Edmon Elgström Misol. The commentary is focused on the analysis of the original text,on the problems of the translation along with solution, and on the typology of translation shifts. This bachelor thesis is a commented translation of a selected French text. The thesis consists of two parts: the first one is a translation of 20 standardized pages, the second is a commentary of this translation. The original text is a brief description of the history of the Second World War. The commentary is divided into several parts which are: translation analysis of the original text (with emphasis on grammar, lexicology, syntax and stylistics), translation strategy, typology of translation methods and a chapter dealing with the specific problems of the translation. In the commentary, examples taken from the original and the translated texts are given.
